What
is this service?
The Hearing Impaired Program consists of several
options: 1) in-home services for infants, 2) a
classroom program for intensive language development,
3) inclusion classes in general education with support, and 4) teacher
consultant services in the child's local school.
Depending on the needs of the child, a combination
of these services may be provided.
Who
do we serve?
Services are provided from birth through high
school graduation to students with hearing
impairments.
How
do we serve?
Based
on the needs of the child or student with a hearing impairment, programs provide:
- in-home
services for children under age three
- specialized
listening devices and hearing aids for trial
- teacher
consultant services
- classroom
resources for teachers
- specialized
hearing impaired classroom services where
students receive intense speech, language,
auditory and academic instruction from a
teacher of the hearing impaired
