The Charlevoix Intermediate School District is one of 57 ISDs in Michigan.



Char-Em serves:
- 11,450 students in 11 local public school districts, 6 private schools, and 3 public school academies.

- over 1,000 handicapped students and over 2,500 students in vocational education.

- 1,005 square miles and over 800 school personnel in the ISD area.


Char-Em ISD:
- combines resources to provide regional services efficiently and cost effectively operates specialized schools and programs for students.

- provides technical assistance in many ways to local school districts is the link between school districts and the Michigan Department of Education
